Roll bar/cage?
I am wondering if anyone out there makes a roll bar for an 01 t/a that doesn't require any cutting of the interior? I know it sounds kind of silly, but I just turned 20k miles on my car and prefer not to mess up the interior. This will sound even sillier, but I'm getting ready to order a Huron speed turbo kit tomorrow, custom grind turbo cam, but there's no way to keep it slower than 11.49 lol.
If anyone out there has a solution to keep my car legal at the track without cutting into the interior, I would greatly appreciate it. My family likes going to the track with me and my wife was ok with turboing it until she found that part out. I know you gotta pay to play, but I'm just hoping there's another solution.
Thanks guys

I don't mind cutting the carpet, just not the the panels. I know I'll need a bar though, because with the 2.73 gears it runs consistent 11.85's @116 and I haven't ran it since I put the 3.42's in yet.
I do alot of car cruises so I'd like to do it to this car vs another. I just want a clean, nicely done decent powered turbo car to have fun with. I will look into that bolt on kit that I only need to cut the carpet on.

A roll bar means no more back seat passengers, and a full 10 pt cage means the front seat passengers ideally should wear helmets full time. The steel bars - even with padding - don't give if a person hits them.
I would think all that thru before you order the turbo kit! To get the most out of a turbo setup, you would need to lower the compression, then it's not the original 20k mile motor any more.
Decisions, decisions! Good luck with it.

Midwest Chassis has a 6 point roll bar that doesn't require cutting of interior, and it fits great. But I would reconsider your plan since your doing a turbo build. 6pt. bar is only good to 10.0, 8pt cage is good to 8.50. I put a 6 pt bar in my car and am now pushing the 10.0 limits, wish I would of put a cage in the car from the start.

We were in the same situation with our Corvette (nitrous though) and I put off putting a bar in for the same reasons. Finally bit the bullet and ordered one from Wolfe. I was SO impressed with the fit and finish and ease of installation. Actually got it completely installed in one day working alone. Only trimming necessary was to carpet and I couldn't be any happier with it. For under $1K (for the mild steel) you can't go wrong with them!

I installed a Wolfe 6-point bolt-in, and like everyone else commented, fit and finish were outstanding and just some cutting of the carpet (and drilling holes through the floor obviously) assuming you go with over the seat rear bars. As for the rear seats, how tight is inspection where you plan on taking the car? I ordered the removeable crossbar for just that reason, so the kiddies can fit back there. Not NHRA legal, but I cannot imagine any track around me ever catching it.
I would worry about just getting the car down there first, and if I had to do it over again, I would have waited until I actually started getting kicked out or warned at the track first.

I hate the idea of not being able to use my backseats because sometimes we'll take the kids with us on a nice day. I'm going to look into the Wolf bolt in roll bar though. I already ordered the Huron ac kit with the TC78 and everything needed to go with it. The heads I was getting ready to put in with everything I needed put me over $4500 and probably would have gained 50rwhp. So $$$ to HP going boost was the way to go and will support my future plans.
I don't ever plan on running faster than 10.0 at the track, I rode in my buddies turbo ss that runs real low 10's and that's plenty fast for me
I'm hoping to just turn my boost down to 5psi with my eboost 2 and 5psi spring and get away with it until I figure out what to do about the cage. I'm just really wanting a nice, clean, tastefully done car that will run mid to high 10's without breaking a sweat. I may wait until they say something to me about it and go from there.
Thanks for all the info you guys gave me, and I know a lot of you wouldn't have went the turbo route. It just seemed like the logical thing to do, paying an extra $1800-$2000 more, and get a lot more power with better drivability since my cam will be a lot smaller.

Nice
How much are you going to spray on your new build? I almost went that route because I like the sound of an n/a car. I'm really going to miss the looks this thing gets because I drive with no plate in my borla.
