All I really have to say is, you can't compare
a 03' (supercharged) cobra to a 02 SS. Mainly
because, they don't even make an 03' SS. who knows
what a LS1 with a superchrger from GM would have
run, probably low 12's with 60' hook up. Oh, by
the way, didn't the Cobra run a 12.93
Anyway, don't get me wrong, I'm glad Ford is finally waking up,but don't compare to 02 SS's.

I couldn't agree more LS1! I am not biased, "well maybe a little." I mean, I would respect a damn tricycle if it was running 12's you know. If your fast, then your fast. Doesnt matter how you get there. I have never been too fond of the Mustang. This lastest atempt for them to come out with something, "affordable" that can keep up with the LS1 is SAD in my book. I mean really, a supercharged mustang only running 12.9? What is that crap? I have minor mods on my car and am running the same time? I have a friend with a 98 Vortec S-Trim LS1 running a 12.2 on street tires! Last months HotRod magazine had a test run with it, yes a 12.9 was the best they could get out of it. There was also another magazine that ran it a couple of months ago but can't remember the name of the mag.? Anyhow, you get the point. You guys are making the same mistake that Ford owners made with us a few years back...you're paying too much attention to what the dumb **** mags like Car and Driver were able to run! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
Hell, according to them, our LS1s were supposed to run 13.7s @ 102mph when most of us were able to go mid to low 13s @ 104 to 107 mph!
Evan Smith ran our cars in the high 12s @ 109 mph!!! Did you see what he made a new Cobra run? How about 12.4 @ 113 mph while spinning off the line?!?
So quit looking at the retard mags and watch the ones at your local drag strip...unless they're a dumb rich boy whose never driven a manual in his entire life. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Hmm I wonder what the 5.4l (like the one in the Cobra-R, the 360+RWHP with full 50 states emmisions?? and NA to boot) with a blower will do. Oh I also wonder how long the powder connecting rods in the ls1 together with cast crank and "hyperpathic" pistons @ 10:1 compression will hold under boost??

I am going to jump in on this subject one more time. Back in '87, all the Ford guys were crying foul because the Buicks were blown and some how they didn't think it was a fair race. I didn't understand the point then and I don't understand it now. We GM guys have to accept that Ford beat us this time and it doesn't matter how they did it. I could have bought a 2003 Cobra but I got a Z-28 instead because I LIKE IT BETTER. Nuff said. Quit whining guys.

Yes, I see your point Bob Cosby and Pewter Z28. A bad mistake on my part. But it is all that we had to go by at the time.
By the way, a buddy of mine has had a Votec S-trim on his 98 Z since he had 3000 miles on it, and still running hard! He is in the high 11's now with basic bolt on's and of coarse the small power adder! If our cars aren't built to with stand that type of punishment, then he is the exception to the rule! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
