Default Help... Need to knock a couple tenths off my 60'!?!

Ok. I've got one more shot at the track this year; I know my car is capable of 12's, but my 60' times (best of 2.15 on Nittos) are holding me up.

Here's my setup. I'm runnin an 02 SS M6 (see sig for mods/times) with Hotchkis Springs (1.5" drop) and 315 Nittos @ 25lbs. I know the drop springs are hurtin me, but they look so good Oh yeah, and I've still got the stock LCA's, which I know isn't helping me, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to shell out the dough for new LCA's and brackets this season (winter project).

My best 60' times to date were obtained by revving to 3000rpm and getting off the clutch quickly (not dumping it, but pretty quick). This results in some tire spin and 2.1x 60' times. Any advice??

I'm thinking one thing I need to do is heat the Nittos up a little more; since I don't have a line lock, it sounds like revvin it up in 2nd gear, lettin it out, and stompin on the brake is the best way. That sound about right? BTW, I made one attempt at this the other night, and it wasn't pretty; nothing better than killing your car sitting in a nice, big cloud of smoke

Anyway, any help you guys could give me would be great. I'm thinkin I might hit US41 for the MFBA event next weekend. Saw a bunch of you MFBA'ers a couple Saturdays ago... I was the one working on my 60' with an impressive bog/wheel hop combo that netted me a sparkling 2.8x 60'... Finally got it down to the tune of my 13.28 in my sig, but I know the driver is the weak link at this point

First thing i would try is rev a little higher maybe 4000-4500rpm and slip the clutch more.

I tried to run nitto's for a year, never could get them to hook and i had the same suspension that i running now.

Install a line-lock. The only way to hook Nitto's w/M6 car is to really get them hot. 3000-3200 launch should get you 1.90's sixty fts. w/your current suspension. 15" sticky tires work the best, because they have the most "sidewall flex". Hope this helps. Real high launches will be sure to get you a ramp truck ride home from the track! Best wishes. WJ.

I have a line lock, when i do my burnout i hole it for 5 seconds after i see a little smoke. so probally about 8 seconds. then i let the line lock go and burm them for a few feet up towards the staging line. i launch at 2200rpm and fan the clutch and push the throttle at the same time. my best 60 ft with nittos is 1.826 and i just recently ran a 1.82 12.06 @ 116.91 mph in my bolt on 6 speed camaro. when you shift make sure they are smooth and fast and youll run better too. i dont lift the throttle but alot of people do. so i guess thats up to you. hope this helps a little.
