What's a good Suspension setup track & street???
My car will be three years old this Dec, stock suspension sans the BMR LCA's. I want a Torque Arm that doesn't connect to the tailhousing, and what else would be good hooking for the track and streetable? Will be running 26x11.5x16 at event nights and Nitto's all else, Eagle GSA's just aren't cutting it . TIA.

My friend is real happy with his Spohn Tq arm. I was content with my Random tech but you mentioned disconected from the rear. I eventually upgraded to a Madman tq arm. Probably a little to aggresive for the street. what about the BMR tq arm? It doesn't look to shabby, sorry no expierence with it. You may want to look at an airbag for the rear passenger side. Maybe a 1 inch rear swaybar for strip use. LCA relocation brackets for some reason make me believe that my tires bite down harder. Maybe V6 springs for the rear. They're tolerable for the street. You get less chasis flex if you install some SFC's. I really like the KB DD SFC's. Disconnect the front bar when visiting the strip. I'm sure I'll think of something else later. Good luck

98Z, are the QA1 adjustable shock/strut? I know you ca lower the ride height, but can you adjust for drag/street/autox? thanks.

to answer your question, yes you can adjust and stiffen the ride of the car and allow the tires to absorb the shock of the sidewalls (thus autocross ready) or loosen it in a matter of minutes to have a weight transfer suspension for the track. great stuff there. amazing purchase.

QA1's are the way to go! They rock. The 12 way adjustable system on them really works. I can drive my car 90 miles to the track and it handles great on the 6 settings. At the track I switch to 1 on the fronts and 3 on the rears. The wieght transfer is outrageaous. I cut 1.5X 60's with no wheel spin.
Also the front shocks and springs allow you to adjust the ride height. I dropped my front about an inch. I had dropped it more, but I got tired of scraping on every bump.
I also have the BMR adjustable torque arm. I noticed that it is stiffer on the street than the stock one. Not obnoxiously so though.

Mike and Gator, thanks for the QA1 info, just what I needed to hear. What about rebuild intervals and can I do that or is it a send it in to rebuild? Which BMR T/A? The stock replacement or Extreme Duty? I am looking at the Xtreme Duty cause I do not want to chance f*cking up my trans tailshaft from launches. Seen Madmans, look a little less friendly installation. Anyother's. Thanks again Mike and Gator.

Look in the GP section of this site, and look for the sponsor Raging Motorsports!! They are having an awesome GP right now on the QA1/HAL system, everything you need to start cutting lower e.t.'s, and 60' times. For less than $600 , but you better hurry, because once they hit ten they are stopping and you will never see that good of deal again! They also carry Spohn & BMR products, so depending on your budget, Mark will hook you up with the ultimate drag suspension!!!!

I dont have the extreme duty torque arm, but if you plan on going faster than 11.0, BMR reccomends that you get it.
Another thing that you will really want to look into is subframe connectors. Lanuching hard causes a lot of bodyflex in our cars and that leads to all sorts of problems down the road.

I have the Madman TQ Arm, Hals, Subs and other BMR Sus. parts. I drive my Hot Rod on the street about 150 miles a week with no problems.
Now, She does ride like a dump truck with all the above a 5.13 gears but Hey, this is a race car that I drive on the street, not a street car I race at the track.

Re: What's a good Suspension setup track & street???
Mike & Coach, thanks again, yeah SFC are in there already-that was first mod along with LCA's and Yank 3k stall. Did you set the Madman TA up yourself, and how complicated of a job? Are there any other TA's that do not mount to the trans tailshaft, I checked sponsors sites, haven't seen anyothers? Coach, the Dump Truck feeling due to the steep gears or actual suspension? Are the HAL's adjustable, and how do they behave streetwise? TIA.

Re: What's a good Suspension setup track & street???
I have a pretty good setup for street/strip. Use the Hal shocks for adjustability and Eibach Prokit springs for good handling. With the hal's set to 2 or so in the front, you will get good weight transfer even with the prokit. Tighten them up and the car handles pretty well.
LCA relocation brackets help a lowered car, but I don't see the need for a torque arm. I cut mostly high 1.4X 60's with the stocker. Just get some good tires.
