Finally Decided To Register
I have been watching this board for a long time now, but finally decided to register today.
All this talk of stock suspended 4th gens going fast is too tempting not to get in on

Re: Finally Decided To Register
Nick, welcome to the board!
Don't get too carried away with the LS1 vs. whatever stuff though. We all know that LS1's are not the be all end all invincible powerplants that some folks would lead you to believe they are, but this is an LS1 board, afterall.

Re: Finally Decided To Register
Guys lets not get carried away here.
The LS1 isnt there yet...
Most SERIOUS Gen II guys are runing well into the high 7's or better. Not knocking anyones goals here but the LS1 doesnt have a chance against these kind of power plants.
Well,at least not yet...
Once Dart or someone else decides to make a stronger block along with a better head, intake then you'll see the LS1's really lay the smack down..
IMO 8.00@175 is gonna be about it for the LS1
I could be wrong but thats my opinion.

Sorry Joel, I don't think we'll ever see an aftermarket GenIII block, other than the C5R piece from GM. Same with cylinder heads. I think the initial tooling costs would be waaay to high to ever make it worthwhile for any of these aftermarket companies, since the GenIII will always be somewhat of a "limited availability" piece. The traditional SBC/BBC motors have been around forever and will remain the choice for "real" racing applications. There would never be enough demand for a set of Brodix LS1 heads, for example. I could be wrong, but that's my $.02...

Re: Finally Decided To Register
Who knows though? I mean, the LS1 is a pretty popular engine to mod. Dart even makes a Honda block now.
I wouldnt totally dimiss the idea but the odds arent great Id say.
FWIW, Dart does make Ford blocks now too which before it was limited to Motorsport produced blocks if you wanted to build a fast Ford.
I like the melting pot here! There is more for the heads up stuff here it seems than Camaroz28.com anymore. LOL
