What is your rev limit?
If you are bogging at 6K rpm up your launch rpm to 7000rpm
If you still bog then you need more gear or a real flywheel in the car
Cheers,
Chris

I wasn't sure how safe that was, thats why I didn't try it.
If I do that, I'd probably drop down to about 4000rpms after I release the clutch, which would still help out a ton, as I make 95rwhp/45rwtq more at 4000rpms than I do at 3000rpms.

Help me improve my crappy 60 ft times puhlease ; )
OK, I've only made two passes on my heads cam setup, and I'm only running hi 1.7's/low 1.8's on my 12 bolt setup with ET Streets. Part of it was because my tires hooked too well, and I bogged down to 3000rpms although I launched at 6000rpms. I think more tire pressure would help for sure.
I have an aftermarket torque arm set at -2 degrees I believe, Hotchkis Lower Control Arms and adjustable panhard rod, and a tranny mount. I also run without a front sway bar.
The rest of the suspension is stock.
I also have an aluminum flywheel and only 3.73 gears, both of which don't help matters. Aside from changing out the flywheel and gears, what can I do to improve my 60ft times?
How much would HAL shocks help? What about an airbag in the right rear?
Any good launching techniques for an aluminum flywheel? I hold it at 5500rpms, and a split second before I release the clutch I punch it to get the acceleration of the flywheel up....Instead of dumping should I try a slower release of the clutch?
Any help would be much appreciated guys.

Re: Help me improve my crappy 60 ft times puhlease ; )
whats up,
I have to put in my little knowledge i have and say my setup is almost excatly the same as urs, same tires, on a stock 16" rim w/et streets, mosier 12 bolt, poly lca's and RT torque arm, same pinionangle, but i have a stock flywheel and 4:11 gears. I am launching at 5500 also. Do you have skinnys? I just got a 1.68 out of mine and was pulling low 1.7s all day,and i think i can easily improve that. I think with 4:11 or HIGHER gears and flywheel it will dramitically help your setup, night and day difference. You shift pretty high w/ that cam i would think and the bigger gear will probally help ur combo out also besides the 60". Also u might want to try some relocators,if u dont have them already. With the steel flywheel you can drop the clutch and mash the gas at the same time to as ur staging and take some shock off the rear tires which will help the 60's also... Just my two cents..

It may be tough to get a much better 60' with 373's and an aluminum flywheel. I had an aluminum flywheel in my last car that was until the first time I took it to the track. I took the flywheel back out the next week.

You need more gear. I considered the cam you are running and Thunder said my 4.10's would not be enough. Get rid of that flywheel too. I have about the same supension as you, and on a well prepped track cut a 1.58 60'. Had many 1.60-.61 60's as well. Thats still not good enough. This winter I'm going to work on getting those 60' times down. Probably going with 4.30 gears too.
I launch at 5000 rpm and if the track is hooking spin slightly. Still trying to figure the best launch rpm. Good luck.

You wanna change to 15" tires....the extra sidewall is what really benefits you
Also, you dont want relocation brackets.....call up madman and ask him why and he can explain it better than i could

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but...GET RID OF THAT !&@%$&#!@^$&! POS FLYWHEEL!!!
Aside from raising the launch RPM you can play with your clutch release technique to cure your bog. It took a little practice but I learned to launch my 3.42 geared SS (mostly stock at full weight) at WOT without bogging (this was with absolutely no tire spin on Nittos.) 1.84s were the 60s.

I run a aluminium flywheel,1,60-1.64 all day long.
If you want to 60' better on that set up-
RAISE your tire pressure to spin a little.
You don't need any suspension work, because you are already hookin' too good.
Raise the tire pressure, slip the clutch a little.
PS-you could run more gear,though.
Until you trap at 130,don't gear it to trap at 130.
If you do,don't complain about 60' times trapping @118.
