when you walk on the starting line and lose your sneaker in the glue. That is good prep. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

IMO,its even more than that. Any clumps of rubber need to be scrapped, not only prep the starting line with vht but the first couple hundred feet and blow all the dust and sand off the track. It takes work and all good tracks have knowlegeable staffs that keep the track up to par. At big IHRA/NHRA races, they vht the whole 1/4 mile.
