I am running stock WS6 spring with HAL's single adjustable shocks.
I am thinking of changing out my stock springs for the HAL’s 15” x 300 lbs.
How do you like them?
Are they transferring weight considerably better then the stock springs?
How much better 60’ did you get?
I will be using them as street/drag setup.
Tell want you think?

I have the 300# springs with my hals, they're pretty nice on the street, the tech at QA1 told me that they will transfer weight fine, I haven't had a chance to try them at the strip though....

i was wondering the same thing too. when you install the 300# spring...how well can you tell the difference in weight transfer? anyone using the 275 lb spring on the street?

My buddy uses the 275 spring on the street and he's ok, I have the 300# spring on mine, the ride isn't too great, actually thinking of going to back to my old setup with the hypercoils/koni's/bilsteins.

I have the 275`s with the shocks set on number 4 for my daily driver. It rides really smoth up front now, kinda like the Grandmaws Cadilac. I have it set at stock ride hight and my X pipe dosen`t scrape any worse than it did with the stock springs and shocks. I can tell the front end rolls over alot more after the install. I`m sure having the shocks set on number 4 has somthing with the roll, as well as the softer springs. If you are trying to build a G machine stay away from the 275`s. Every time I race its in a straight line so I decided to go with the 275`s

I know the 275's are an all out drag race spring, but how much different would the 300's be?
For a heavier car, do you think the 300 would be better?

When I put my 275s on the only weight reduction I had was the spare tire and jack taken out. If you are into cornering don`t go with the 275s. My car rolls (dips) when I corner hard and then it grabs after the roll. I have the shocks set loose at #4 so I`m sure that makes a differance. Haven`t tried them set higher. If you would like I can set them up higher somtime this weekend and let you know how it handels then with the 275s. I`v been wanting to try it out with the shocks set stiffer anyway, but I wasn`t scraping on anything so I decided to leave it at #4. It hooks so good now that the clutch slips when I try a small launch.

I am looking for a setup that will really hook, but can still be driven on the street.

OK I`ll let you know somthing by Sunday. The only draw back is if you tighten up the shocks you loose alot of the weight transfer or I would be driving around with them set stiff for cornering. I`ll post on here by Sunday evening and PM you that I posted.

yeah...i dont really care about cornering. i drive like a grandpa most of the time...and im only concerned with drag performance. i think im gonna try the 275's

OK I have had the shocks set on #12 for the last two days. I can tell a big differance while crusing down the road. It no longer rides smooth like a family car but has the rougher ride like it did with the stock springs and shocks. When cornering the front end dosen`t roll over near as much and I think it feels just like it did with the stock set up. Now keep in mind I have had the shocks set on #4 since I had them installed 6 weeks ago so it`s going to feel stiff to me set on #12, but like I said it rides like the stock setup as far as I can remember. Now when I nail it in 1st gear from a 5 mph roll I still hook good, but it dosen`t seem to plant the rear tires as hard to the ground as it did set on #4. Feels like I my be spinning them a little.The front end dosen`t raise up as much either. I`m going to ride with them on #12 the rest of the week and set them back on #4 next weekend.

Al, 12 maybe a little to much, I was thinking about 7 or 8.
I know with 12 on my stock spring It doesn't move, unlivable.
I use 4 to 6 on the street

Well #12 with the 275 lb springs fell stock to me. Keep in mind you have the stock springs. I was told that the 300 lb springs are equalivent to the stock springs. My 275s have alot more coils than the stockers and wiegh 1/2 a lb more than the stockers. I also read a thread where the 300lb springs transfer weight good enough but I don`t have experiance with them. You do have a 12 bolt and a FAST intake, but your convertable probably weighs a bit more than mine. I am camed with Grotty 1 3/4 long tubes with a 3 inch X pipe and dumps and putting down 411.1 to the rear on 275 Nitto drags and I love the 275 springs and the shocks set on #4. You are probably laying down more HP than me or close to the same with the heavier 12 bolt and convertable and you have a stage 3 clutch. Like I said I like my 275 lb springs and I drive my car 189 miles a week back and forth to work plus weekend driving. It is more of a confortable ride but I don`t reccomend them if you are building a G machine.
