I always run tubes. Just a safety thing for me.

hmm weird. i never like tubes. just something that could pinch and give me a flat. slicks tend to loose air in them faster but oh well. one should be checking the pressure often.

I agree, I`ve never used tubes for slicks much more chance of a flat IMO.

I run my 28/10.5 Hoosier drags tubeless.
Seems like guys are split on the decision to run tubes or not. That makes sense, because Hoosier themselves say it's up to personal preference.

Quote from Hoosier FAQ:

6. Should I use "tubes" in slicks and DOT drag tires?

ANSWER: The decision to run tubes is ultimately up to the racer. Hoosier drag tires are capable of safely running without tubes. The Quick Time DOT tires should be run with a tube when the tire is run on the street, but they can be run without tubes at the track. Race tires are inherently susceptible to air leakage due to being built of very light gauge material needed to perform in various racing applications. A decision to use a tube should be based on your application and needs. (Top)

I've never run tubes in my Hoosiers. They have a nice stiff sidewall and feel pretty stable as-is.
