left wheel not burning out?
So I'm at the track tonight and come home to watch the vids (my brother was taping me) and see that my left wheel starts to burn out and then stops while my back right tire just spins w/ ease. Once the left side didn't even start spinning while the right just spun no problem. I know this has something to do w/ the differential but what exactly does this mean? This is an M6, stock rear w/ M/T DR's. I was using the linelock as well. Does this mean the rear is going to take a sh_t soon?

Could be that you're not giving it enough gas. If you ease into a burnout then sometimes only the one wheels will spine where if you punch it and keep it at 5-6 k then both will spin equally.

My rearend has about 70,000 miles on it and a while ago the posi or limited slip has been getting weaker, thus doing one wheel burnouts. Every now and then at the track it will open up and burn only one tire, maybe like 1 out of 8 times, and this is on nitto drags. Now, from my experiance, w/ the Sticky tire u have, it will only get worse. What U could do is change the fluid and get some GM limited Slip additive or run Royal Purple diff. fluid to give some life back to ur stock limited slip. Now this will more then likely help, but all limited slips wear out.

No matter what RPM u release the clutch, or where ur RPM is at when doing a burnout should it open up and do a 1 wheel burnout. Ur friction plates in the limited slip are getting worn out. I'm sure GM sells replacement friction plates for the factory limited slips. I know from a previous rebuild of a Ford True trac, the discs or friction pads in the limited slip are 50 to 60 bucks right from ford, so i'm sure GM is in that price range also. Has for what it takes to rebuild one, not sure on a GM, so u might wanna check w/ another person.

It is the posi. Why would you want to spend all that money and still have a POS stock posi???? Just bite the bullet and buy an Eaton posi. You will not have to worry about it for a long time. By the way prior to going to my spool, I ran the Eaton for 3 years, up to a 150 shot out of the hole on an M6. Still dead hooked the day I snapped onoe of the axels on the 10-bolt's last day at the track . By the way one of our great sponsors ( www.thunderracing.com ) carries them.

I coudn't agree more with Navy David SS. Go to an aftermarket posi or even a Locker. A spool would probaly not be for you. I have ran them in some cars on the street and they are not forgiving at all.
