Question Stock torque arm limits...

The car has come along way in the past year. Never would have imagined 6 years ago I could dip into the 1.4's SI.... Insane. So my Q? is, how fast have you guy's ran with the stock torque arm, 60' wise? Not really worried about breaking it after the initial launch. Some have told me they broke their t/a in the high 1.5 60' range. I (knock on wood) never had a problem. Took alot more weight out of the car since I ran the 11.30. Should run a lttle faster in the 60 this fall....Am I safe for now?

I think your fine-Futural ran some low 10's, maybe even 9's in his stock ci nitrous combo on a stock torque arm. I think you would pick up some et though w/ the torque arm and anti-roll bar setup.

I ran a series of 1.41-1.45's. Had to swap the bushing for a poly after mangling the stock bushing and clamshell. These were on a 26x15 8" wide ET Drag mounted to 10" rims.

I ran 10.92 @ 122 (1.49) with the stock TA and a poly front mount. The only reason I changed it was that I found a good deal on a used Random Tech TA

Good deal John. Thats a good reason to switch..

Gonna run the stocker till it breaks. Curious to see which one goes first, the 10-bolt or the T/A.....

You guys are running 10's on stock torque arm.

Mine broke last summer when my car was just bolt ons(mid 12's at best) on streets. Geez.

Mine has been ok too cutting low 1.50s and a few high 1.40s. I bought a poly mount for it but I'm to lazy to put it in. I'll probrably switch to an Alston (sp?) style soon.

i think the real limit of the stock TQ arm is when it lets the angle go off enough that you no longer get great traction...

and then, swap to a shorter and adjustible arm.....

I had plenty of 1.7 60's with a stock TA and 255/55/15 BFG DR's. Then I put on some 325/50/15's MT DR's with 20psi

Launched at 6 grand and I twisted the torque arm off of the rear end. I think my failure is due to loose bolts on the rear end though.
