Default Gettin' closer, Hurst Pistol Grip Quarter Stick & custom shifter cover.

Decided to go with the Hurst Pistol Grip Quarter Stick shifter and could have bought a 6 speed (M6) shifter plate and made it work, but I wanted to get rid of the console completely because I have no use for it. Plus I removed MORE weight which is a plus for me. Well I mocked up a template of what I wanted using cardboard, then made the final cover out of .025" aluminum sheet. Came out well in my opinion. Gave it a brushed/polished look. The button on the shifter I'm using for transbrake and the switch you see is for my line lock. I added the LED light to show that it's activated. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to buy some cheap carpet to cover the small exposed areas, leave it like that, take out the carpet completely, or do lightweight carpet. Here are some pics! Let me know what you think, thanks.

sorry, back on topic.

you can buy something just like that for 40 bucks off summit/jegs or whatever, two of my buddies run it with no center console with their 1/4 sticks. nice work though.

nice work Jeramy, looks like you took your time on it. Order the lightweight uncut carpet from Speed Inc, thats what I did. I also ditched the console for a cleaner look inside. Carpet should arrive any day now.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I was going to buy the cover for it from Summit where I got my shifter and some other items, but decided not to because it was a universal piece and I could make my own just the way I need it. Plus I wanted it to have a place for my line lock switch and LED. I really love the shifter. At first, I was having a hard time deciding, but I definately have no regrets on this one. A little expensive, but definately worth it.

By the way, the Speed Inc. carpet and Year One, they're the same right? Are they both manufactured by the same company? I used to have the Speed Inc. carpet in at one time, but decided to sell it because it didnt form to the car like the factory carpet did.

That's the same shifter I have. I was thinking about leaving the console out as well, adn I really like how it all looks finished. BTW, nice box.
