Default Tire Growth...

Was trying to search but that wasn't working.

About how much tire growth at 135mph could you expect a 29.5" tire to have? is there a particular percentage that you guys have seen from on size tire to the next?

on my 28's I used a half inch growth, so 28.5 when figuring what gear to change to last year. seemed to work out proper.

i'd say 1/2 inch overall is a good figure. if you can't remember what a 1/2 inch looks like Chris just take a look down your pants

1/2" GOT YA... so the difference between my tip and the floor. the measurement between those two points right?

Ok, that would give me a bit more room then at a 30" tire at speed.

From Mickey Thompson's web site FAQs:

Q: How much will a Mickey Thompson drag slick grow?
A: Over all diameter will affect the amount of growth that you will have. There are many variables that contribute to tire growth as well. Unless otherwise noted, Mickey Thompson drag slicks are considered a low growth tire. Mickey Thompson slicks will grow approximately 1" to 1 ½" @ 150mph (Note: Radial slicks do not grow).
