The safety crew has to have outside access to your car. I shave the door handles on alot of cars but I put Lexan windows in and I cut a hole in the window to allow accessto the handles.

No poppers. In a crash the battery would be turned off and they cant get in the car. The Vipers had this problem for years.

If the tech guys don't notice the lack of door handles or some sort of emergency access, then they shouldn't be tech guys.

I didn't mean that. I have all the safety equipment in my car. What i meant was that this guy probably doesn't go to the track often and would probably run 12's at best. he's probably just wants to do the shaved handles to improve the look of the car and was wondering if he would get kicked off the track if he went.
But i could be completely wrong.

We always tried to get a friend out at the track with us during last season, he has a honda with shaved handles and poppers, he almost came out untill we heard about this tech rule.

Amen!

I've seen 13 second cars with shaved handles needing a manual opener from the outside to pass tech. One used a nicely-bent-up coat hanger and it worked fine.

yea i would want to race often at the track, and i do run a 12...but not for long.....so what if i had a mechanical popper from the outside like underneath the car? or even in the wheel well?

here's the thing...
there's 200 cars at the track, you are the only one with no door handles. when you're upside down, and the safety crew goes to open your door to get you out, how will they know that your hidden door popper is under the car or in the wheel well? I'd leave the handles
