Default Pics of 29" MT Sportmans on my '98 TA

I got these to be able to turn a little less rpm's on the highway. They are for street driving only, no racing.
I really need a trans that has converter lock up

That's awesome dude, i've been thinkin about a set of them for the same reasons, just can't justify spending $150 per tire, when I get my 28" pepboy radials for $60 per tire and they've lasted forever, had 'em on the car for almost 3 years, need a new pair soon though, they're pretty worn from excessive smokage, hehe! And surprisingly I went a 1.79 60' on 'em on motor just dicking around!

They are the 29x12.5's.
Devon, I sold my DR's so these didn't cost me that much.

I was going to try those for street driving, glad they fit. I wish I didnt drill my street wheels for screws though, I'll have to put the screws on the outside, at least it will look 'race' lol.

Yeah, waiting for the rpm drop on this one. I have a NLU 350 as well, although only 3.50 gears, but still...I get to drive it from Long Beach to Sierra Vista, AZ tomorrow...650miles at 3000rpms...might take me a little while and drop it down to 2700rpms.

Q: Is it really that bad when your talking about a roadtrip time vs distance and refer to rpm rather than mph?

When I had the 3:42's it wasn't a problem but with the 4:10's highway drivin' sucks. I haven't been on the highway yet with these tires but from just driving around I would say I've dropped around 300-400 rpm's with the extra inch of tire.

Looks good.

Usually every inch of diameter in tire is about 100-150 rpm drop at cruising, depending on your converter stall. My Nova goes about 3000 rpm at 60 mph with the 275/60/15 tire, and about 3400 rpm at 70 mph. Made a trip from Gainesville to Atlanta, and the ears were ringing a little after that trip from the Flowmasters and turn-downs.

Devon,
I used to do the same thing for street rubber, as a set of 275/60/15 regular radial tires cost $140, but I had to try the new ET Street Radials this time around, and glad I did.

Derek
