WHEEL HOP....next tip???? analyze this
See sig for mods.
Went to track tonight, heres my slip.
R/T .603
60' 2.090
330 5.615
1/8 8.412
MPH 89.01
1000 10.792
1/4 12.778
MPH 114.12
I have added lower control arm lowering brackets, boxed lower arms with bushings and KYB adjustable shocks since last run. WELL I decided to make all the shocks soft figuring the back would squat and the front would launch. Well a nice 3500 RPM clutch dump equaled the car bouncing sideways with wheelhop so bad I just let off, and then layed back into it. second gear bounced around some but I hooked up great in third. Guy next to me with a blown vette did 12.2 @ 108 MPH? He beat me, but I was going faster? Any ideas What should I do next "to stop the hop"?

Well I took out the stock shocks and they were real stiff, the wheel hop was really bad then, but I will try adjusting to a higher number and see if it gets worse or better....

from what i read, i don't think your having "wheel hop" its more of a "bounce". i do know exactly what your talking about though. to fix/help the problem just stiffen your shocks up....a lot. some sort of t/a should be in the near future also.

Yes I was looking into a torque arm if the current additions did not help, I went from the bilsteins which I felt were stiff, to the kyb/s staring at 2 then going to 6. The car still pounds hard, next time I will try them at 8 (highest) probably get the Arm regardless. Yes I know.......I need tires. Funny thing is....seems to hook better on the street, the track seems like a bumpy skating rink
