Default Is a 325 M/T drag radial too much tire?

Is it too much tire for a h/c car....maybe spray in the future.

It is a 6 speed car, and I want to make sure that I can get out of the hole as quick and as hard as I possibly can.

Thanks guys

Mike

I don't think MT reccommends those tires for a stick car. The M6 shocks them too much and they break loose. They didn't work for me on the t brake.
MT says they are for auto cars off the footbrake.
Maybe some ET streets or Drags would be better?

i think for a stick car, et drags/streets/qtp are better.

i dont think its too much tire personally. its a killer radial.

the fastest drag radial car in teh world (by far) runs the 325 m/t radial. runs 7.50s @ 190 or so. david wolfe driving the black turbo mustang fox body.

its enough tire if you properly setup your car

those cars are'nt stick cars and they do some thing called power management... there not hitting them hard out of the hole, they bring it in gradually... thats why they work.. hit them hard off a trans brake or a clutch dump and you'll light them up if you have any power.. nitrous cars run digi sets to delay the hit and turbo cars can play with how the boost comes in.. even my supra would light up my radials at anything over 14psi of boost on the launch off the foot brake and ebrake... 14psi and under it left like a champ 1.42 60 ft's going 10 teens all day long.. once the boost went over 14psi is would be a smoke show

1.69 isn't a strong 60'. You probably aren't making enough power to break them loose.

well i wasnt going to say it quite this directly lol, but that more or less the truth, they wont hook in a aggressive stick car i guess is a better way to put it, 4.10+gears, 400+rwhp, aggresive clutch. i ran the 325's for a while and with 4.56 gears and 450to the wheels it was a joke, they are way better than nittos but nothing close to a slick on a stick car.

hehe, it wasn't meant as an insult but it is what it is. I definately could've worded it differently but I had one of my kids pulling on my leg when I wrote it so I rushed it.
Sorry man.

You are correct, we do use a boost controller. That helps out tremendously in controling the power and not smoking the tires off the line. We were going 1.30-1.31 all day long on the 7.40's & 7.50's passes. We were more worried about running under 7.50 and getting kick out. So we did not mess with the front half of the run at all. We believe we could have gotten some mid 1.20 60 fts if we tried. We were running in the upper 4.90's all weekend in the 1/8th. ALso on the 7.40 run it went 4.92 to the 1/8 (again we didn't mess with the front half only the top half of the run)

The MT Drag Radials are very good. Almost as good as thier slicks. They are very stable on the top end as well.

Ssssoooooooo....they can hold 450rwhp and 6,000 rpm cluthc dumps?

Will an ET street perform better for a setup like this?

I want to be able to drive the car to the track...so they have to be DOT approved.

Thanks for all the input guys!!
