Go to the track and do a burnout, a BIG one.

Mickey Thompson says to do a BIG burnout for the first shot, then just dust them off from there on out. I always used them just like I did my slicks and they worked great. I personally think they like alot of heat.

Thanks for the quick replies. I am interested to see how they hook up on a cold track, if it doesn't rain it is suppose to be in the high 40's.

They do NOT like heat. MT says not to heat them any more than 25* above the track surface temperature. They turn plastic and get squirrley. Kevin at MT goes on to say they shouldn't be used on high HP M6's because of excessive shock load.

i agree with that to some extent. the first burnout needs to be a good one. just to get that tacky surface it needs.

after that, i do a very short burnout. just when i see smoke i am done with the burnout.

I have never met a DR that didnt need one good burnout and let it rest for a few days for the molecules to reform

Did a decent burn out and went 1.50 on the very first pass at 22psi. Next pass was a 1.47. Ran 3-4 1.4 passes on them the first day at the track.
