New NHRA Rule?
My local track is now requiring cars running 11.99 or faster to have a 20lb radiator cap. Where can we get these that are properly vented for our cars? I want to take my new combo to the track next week but need a 20lb cap!Any ideas?

That's a crazy *** rule. Why a 20 lb cap? just plain weird. I can't think of any good reason for that rule. The only thing a higher psi cap does is raise the boiling point, but a car is suppose to have an overflow tank anyway.
I've ran a 7-9 lb cap for the last 6 years. I switched to it one year when I had a head stud leaking problem and just never switched back. The lower psi cap helped stop the seeping coolant and I finished the season without having to pull the heads.

He's either trying to show off, make a joke or he's got a screw loose.
As for the cap, we've been running the bigger caps for years. It helps keep the track dry, and if your motor is done right, nothing will leak. I think I have a 26lb on both my cars. Never had any problems.
