Default Guys running Hal Qa1's /w stock springs whats your 60'

Im probably going to pick up a set of hal qa1's and I heard stock springs are the way to go. Guys running stock springs whats your best 60'? Do you guys regret going with the stock springs and not going with the drag springs? I do not drive my car alot and I want the best 60' possible without having a HORRIBLE driving experience. Any input greatly appreciated!

I was under the assumption you can't run the stock springs unless you modify them or run the BMR spring cups.

I run stock springs on my QA1's I opted to use the BMR spring cups, but there is a way to modify the QA1 so you dont have to shell out the extra money. My best 60' to date was a 1.52 but hoping for low 1.40's this season.

Are you talking front or rear stock springs? I run the QA1 (w/QA1 275lb spring - changing to 325 this spring), but the rears are QA1 with stock springs (modified in height only). Best 60' todate: 1.30

the ride height in the front you can adjust to whatever you want, I am running stock springs all around on my car. so far, on a 27x11.5 hoosier qtp the best 60 foot has been a 1.52, average 1.53 The bead is spinning about a 1/2 revolution off the transbrake though, and the tires are still spinning about 3 to 4 revolutions before the car really gets going, I suspect screwing a set of 28x10 et drags on this season will solve alot of that if not all of it, and the 60 foot should come down a good it.

This is with a 402, th400, 4.10 gear, off the transbrake and a 3580 raceweight, n/a

Qa1s up front with stock springs and comp 50/50s out back. Best 60' on motor is 1.48 and on a 100 shot it was a 1.44 spinning. No regrets. just modified my stock spring cups.

I just bought a set of Hal's F series shocks also. I didn't know that you have to modify the fronts for the stock springs to fit. Is this true? Can someone clarify this? If so I just have to buy the springs anyway. My wife is going to kill me.

The HAL does not use the same cup-type mounting location as the stock stock. it has a threaded body and a piece that threads onto the shock body and compresses the spring. The springs made to go with HAL shocks have are narrower and taper to a smaller inner diameter than stock.

here's a pic of one of mine to show you wassup.

I am running Front QA1's with my stock springs. I got the Thunder Racing modified cup to hold the spring, this was before BMR made their buillit ones. My rear shocks and springs are the factory units that came with the car 65K miles ago.

Best 60' is a 1.40 with consistent 1.42's and 1.43's
