Default Evap box?

Who has removed the AC evap core. I looked at it today im going to take it out but have a few Q's.
Is the box all one piece with the heater core.
If so did you guys just cut that portion of the box out and make a block off plate?

Just looking for a little info from the people that have done it.

Thanks alot for the pics. Do you think that there is anyway of taking that box out with out taking the whole dash out? Im going to pick at it tomorrow after work. It look like if you cut the AC evaporator out of the box you'll have to custom fab somthing up to make the heater work.
