Tire Pressure ?
I have right around 400 rwhp and rwtq the car is stripped and I am running a set of mickey thompson ET drags. The last time I ran the car pre-heads and tuning. It was a dog off the line and would fall on its face. With that being said I was running only 8 psi and would do a John Force burnout I know way overkill. So what air pressure should I start out with and what launch rpm. Car is a 6 speed. Thanks for any advice in advance. Jessie

8psi is too low IMO. People think that I run too little tire pressure and I run 10psi cold. After the burnout they are around 12psi. I'd start at 10psi, make a pass and get back to the pits and check the pressure. Raise the psi untill you start to spin. Your mph will also go up with a little higher psi. -Mark

.
That's probably a good start point, u only have 400 HP so run the most that will work consistently. If it was me I would start around 12-14 and don't forget the better your chassis the higher it will hook.
Oh yea, stop the big burnouts, you're wasting rubber and cooking out the oils. With 400 HP you are really just trying to clean and put a little heat in the contact area.
Good luck and have fun. Listen to cowboy, record every pass, every time out.
