Steering Wheel In My Lap After Launch
So I went to the track today, ran a 13.4 without doing a burn out or launch. Next up I do a burn out and launch at 2k ran a 13.1, my final run I get up there knowing that my drag radials are gripping well that I can launch in at a higher rpm. (First Time On Drag Radials) So I launch in at 2,500....and the steering wheel during my launch some how goes into full tilt into my lap. What would of made it do that? has this happened to anyone? I was in absolute shock for a few seconds. Any ideas?

Been there, done that. Shocks the **** out of ya, but no harm. You just didn't lock it all the way. Next time wiggle the crap out of it once you're strapped in. Heck I've had my current steering wheel come off in my hand at launch. I about s??t. Oh well live and learn.

Try to..
Sit back in the seat, and quit pulling on the wheel, when you launch the car.. The lock mechanism likely is OK. It's just not designed to take that kind of abuse....
I had that problem in my GN.[low 1.40 short times.]
I moved the seat forward, and held the wheel at the bottom, left hand. Rt hand on the shifter/trans brake/lineloc.
Works for me.

Pull the seat up a notch or two for hard launches
I'll keep your weight against the seat back instead of on the steering wheel.
Also keeps your foot planted where it belongs

Had a friend driving the GN.. The short times were all over the place. He claimed it was the chassis. A close look at the datalogs showed the TPS from launch %, went to WFO, to 5%, and then back to 100%...
