Pro Mod drag cars
Lately I've been going to watch the Pro Mods race at our local 1/8th and they kick ***!!! So, what can ya'll tell me about them (as I know some of you have or have crewed or know a lot about them).
How huge are the cubic inches that they run? Are there really any rules or is it the ultimate "run what you brung" class?

Re: Pro Mod drag cars
Pro Mod definetly is BADASS!
Since you mentioned local 1/8 mile track I'd assume this is an Outlaw Pro Mod deal, and so its essentially run whatcha brung. Common Combos?
632-707ci Nitrous Mills using between 2 to 4 stages of Nitrous
500-526ci Blown Alcohol
Turbo'd Small or Big Blocks (Only at Outlaw races not NHRA/IHRA Pro Mod Legal).
Transmission normally would be a lenco w/ a clutch.
Note these are *common* unspecific combos, I wouldn't doubt seeing a Blown Small Block, or another off the wall combo.
It takes a minimum of ~1700-1800hp to be even remotely in the fiel, w/ many of the cars (Turbo and Blower cars primarily) making in excess of 2200hp.
These cars are the baddest Doorslammers anywhere, running as fast as 5.98 recently in the 1/4 mile, w/ Low 6s being the consistent field.

I love outrageous door cars, and Pro-Mod is top of the heap!

Re: Pro Mod drag cars
Yeah, Outlaw Pro Mod.
Most of these cars are nitrous, some hitting 3 stages in the 1/8
Top qualifier last week ran 4.12@177ish but the race was rained out. Good news is they're running again this weekend
