Default Stock Style Suspension

Is there a definitive ruling on what "stock style" suspension is?

Ok, take a stock 10 bolt from 02 Camaro and replace it with a Moser or Strange 12 bolt etc with factory TA and LCA, ie no 4-link.

It's still considered "stock style" suspension right?

Now what if you shortened the axles on the 12 bolt just a little. Is it still considered "stock style"?

Lastely, what if you did a Mini-tub, still using the stock TA and LCA etc..

Is is still considered "stock style"? Is there a rule on axle length to be considered stock? Or is there a stock suspension description written a rule book anywhere, IHRA or NHRA for our cars?

Most sanctioning bodies consider stock style suspension if you have the lower control arms attached to the car in the stock bolts holes. Also the shocks and springs in the stock location. The T/A must mount to the rearend like factory. You can replace any of the above parts with aftermarkt ones. There isnt any axle lenght etc.

hmmm, I've been thinking about shortening my axles a little to tuck some bigger meat under there, but I don't want to eliminate myself from some competitions. For racing at my local track during bracket season or for outlaw days or even some of the bigger racing events, everyone runs a 4-link ladder setup anyway.

I used to love driving my car to the track with the AC running and run in the Pro class with the 10-11 sec trailered race cars. I've gotten more hardcore with my car now as I search for lower ET. There is a local power train shop near me that does full out tub work. I'd like to keep the wide tires inside the fendors, dont like it when they stick out the side too much.
