Default First 1/4 mile performance

Went out last weekend to Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX and ran the 1/4 for the first time. Street tires and lots of wheel spin in first. 60' was a 2.19 which really sucks, and got into the rev limiter in 1st & 2nd. Quarter came in at a 13.2 & 108. Time for some DR's and launch practice.

Not bad for a 1st timer. M6 or A4? Practice makes faster. Lower your tire psi. Ease off the clutch and floor it. Or like you said buy some tires and let it rip.

Good luck

Thanks David - should have mentioned that it was a T56 running through a 3.70:1 R200 LSD and 225/50-16 street tires - S306 Yokohamas. Reason tires are so narrow is that car is a 1977 Datsun 280Z with the LS1 freshly installed. Going to get so DR's, and go to a 1/8 mile track and practice my launches. Car only weighs 2,830 lbs. so I know I can do much better.

Cool!! I saw pics of your car

What clutch are you running? A set of DR's will really help!
cheers,
Chris

Chris- thanks for complimentary comment on car. I'm currently running essentially a stock clutch. Still sorting car out so nothing fancy at this point.
