Question for those with race only cars...
I just bought a 2000 Tahoe Z71 as my daily driver and also to pull my car to the track. My question is since I won't be driving my car every day like I was, its going to be doing alot of sitting around...
Is there anything I should do to keep the car on its toes? Like fire it up every couple days? Is it ok it sit for like 2-3+ weeks if I don't get to the track?
When I get to the track I usually drive to the end of the track then back to the pits to kind of warm up the car. Has anyone had any bad experiences from pulling the car off the trailer cold after sitting for a couple weeks and then racing?
Thanks,
Lee

If you are going to store the car put it on jack stands. Let the suspension hang. When you are ready to race it then warm the car up to operating temp then load her up. It is also good to atleast spin the motor over once a week to relieve pressure on the valve springs.

Avoid starting the car without getting to full temp. It will just allow condensation to build up and contaminate your oil.

Re: Question for those with race only cars...
During the late spring/summer/late fall months mine is raced all most every weekend and during some of the down time I run around in our development just to warm things up. During the winter months the motor is torn down and freshened up! So basically what MadMan said
