Default LS1+226/226+patriot stge II dyno results

hit the dyno yesterday and got 409HP and 390TQ

this is going through a 3600-4000 stall and 4.10 gears

mods are:

Stock bottom end LS1, patriot stage 2 ls6 heads, .040 gaskets, 226/226 112+4 cam, P&P throttle body, LS6 intake manifold, longtubes and ory. how do my numbers hold up to similar combos? i wish i could have driven it on the dyno. the guy let it downshift to 3rd gear instead of just holding it in 3 and then punching it.

Strong numbers through an automatic. You should be pleased.

How much higher do you want the power to go? You should be shifting that setup at ~6600...

Stout numbers, especially for such a small cam through an auto!

Those #'s are great for those heads, a very small cam, and through an A4. Power curve is very nice. You have a good combo, don't mess with it cause chances are you won't gain what you want. Big cam doesn't always mean better cam. It's about the combination, not a gigantic cam faze like the rest of the internet world seems to get caught up in.

Big cams also do not generate as much low end TQ, which is what is needed to move your truck around. Leave your setup alone and enjoy it.

ok i need more power then hahaha. last year i went 12.19@110. i want 11's on motor before spraying it with a 200 shot. what are some suggestions to get more power out of my current combo?

i already have a bigger converter than last year. the old converter was getting me 1.69 60' times. i switched from the truck intake to the ls6 intake and gained absolutely nothing out of it. installed traction bars, and new shocks are on the way. i dont think it's ready to hit 11's the way it sits right now.

The truck intake flows as/if not a tad better than the LS6 intake (Don't quote me on that though. Been a long time since I've seen truck flow #'s).

A Ported Fast setup would compliment your setup and bring up your rwhp #'s about +20-25. Area through the curve should improve as well, which is what gets the truck moving.

Here's a ported 90/90 setup for sale, $1000 shipped. Sell your LS6 for $300 and only be $700 into a Fast setup w/ TB. Not bad.

haha that would have been great but i accidently ended up in home depot today...i went for a $30 piece of 3/4" plywood and left with a $1000 bill hahahaha. my debit acct is hurting now and since paying off the credit card last week i swore to myself that im only using it in emergencies.

the ls6 intake flows a hair better than the truck intake. i didnt see it on the track though. ive been holding off on the street warrior intake. i have a feeling that it will be better suited to my heavy application than the LS6.

i am shifting the truck at 6900 right now. i know from looking at the graph it says im pulling it too far but the track results dont lie. i dropped it to 6700 and lost ET consistantly. i cant explain it but whatever haha.

yeah...the guy driving it got it going way too fast and let it down shift to 3rd for some reason. kinda feels like wasted money but atleast i got some numbers out of it i guess. i was more interested in meeting up with some guys and checking out the shop that i was considering to install my nitrous kit. it was only 30 bux for 2 pulls.

Solid numbers. I agree that a huge cam will make the truck less fun as it's very heavy to start and you don't want to lose torque.

update. PAT G made a cam for me. 231/239 .617/.623 111+2

picked up some HP and TQ, and drives the exact same. 60' is still the same too.

i also have a fast 90mm and nick williams on the way. im guna send it to westside machine to be ported and matched.

here is my new dyno sheet. maybe i can squeeze 450 out of it N/A with the ported fast?

i also have nitrous on the truck now, but im not as concearned with my nitrous numbers. N/A is more fun to me for some reason. it will eventually see a 200 shot though.

Nice gains. Looks like the chassis dyno increase confirmed what your butt dyno was telling you. Glad to see that you did not lose the low end torque than many thought you would.

Nice gains for a cam swap no doubt. Too bad there is no way to compare results below 5500rpm as the baseline started so high. This is why I dynoed my car starting at 2000 rpm to see if I lose / gain power down low. My car feels stronger at 2000 rpm than before but we will see results soon.

It runs faster because you are making more power after the shift...by running past the peak power point, when the truck shifts, its closer to the peak power than it would be if you shifted at the peak instead. Its all a guessing game at the track but it sounds like you found the sweet spot. Your truck is awesome by the way, i'd love to have a low 12 sec ECSB

exactly what ZTwentyAteU said about the shifting so high. And a fast will help your setup a lot! mabe not to the 450 mark but pretty close mabe within 15 or 10 hp. And your tq will jump too. Do you have a cutout, i didn't catch that. Oh and that bigger cam really helped out with the power... 30 rwhp I think that set of heads like that cam.

well the ported fast is on...my cold air intake wouldnt fit over the nick williams throttle body so its still down. hopefully i can see that 20hp that everyone else seems to get with the ported fast 90's.
