Default Stock 96' lt1 car

Hello all, car is a Trans am ws6 6speed, car was dynoed with an air foil, and hypertech pp... Wondering what kind of power that makes at the motor. Also-the shop said the dyno was notorious for making a little less power compared to dynos around...

Your A/F ratio is uhh "slightly" lean. Even still, 285rwhp is really good out of an LT1.

I'd figure on about 325hp at the crank... Pretty strong LT1 for an airfoil and HPP.

Really, Id figure another 20 at least 15 more ponies for the RamAir on the street.. Safe to say maybe, 335 at the motor then?

Bone stock they'll put down around 235 +/- for an auto and up to 250ish for an M6.

Nice numbers, you have a strong runner that is obviously not a beat up POS that is not taken care of, unlike most LT1's. Post up some pics in the LT1 section!

Very nice #'s. That is definitely one of the strongest LT1's I've ever seen. TQ curve is beautiful.

On average I see A4's do 240-255 and M6's in the 255-270 range.

I would imagine with free mods, ewp, no muffler this thing would do 300wheel, maybe even hit 13.00-?? Its best to date is around 13.28 or so.. No sway bar, no filter, no muffler, no seats, Drag radials. There should be a timeslip or two floating around here with a member somewhere. Maybe if it was a formula body? Im always "ify" on bringing this thing up past 6k but the times drop more and more the more and more I rev. What kind of problems damage can i see with overreving this thing?

Its a strong one. My 96 WS6 made 274/307 with K&N, 160 t-stat, HPP+, and 4.10 gears. Ran 13.18 on the GSC's.

You don't need to go past 6K on a stock LT1. The tach's were usually off a couple hundred, so I wouldn't shift past 6K on the tach.

Does anyone ever dyno on the "other" dynos? It seems like everywhere people go the dynos make "less power" than all the other dynos around.

The shop had just picked up that dyno.. It was sold because people werent getting the numbers the were seeing with other tuners.
Going try and get this thing into the 12s with basically nothing.. Maybe slicks, skinnies, modify the "water blocker" in the hoods ram air, and tune. I Dont think it would be the 1st?

I use and an aftermarket tach also, and they seem to be with in 0150rpm of each. 13.1's deed hookin on those gsc, stock tires suck and i have little problems hooking up with 2600-3600rpm launches. Maybe ill sail in with a gear? 3rd loves 6300pwr ***** and its held up fine so far.

Great numbers. My old man had a 97 Z m6 with a gutted airbox (only mod) and he used to out run or run even with ls1 cars when they first came out. Granted a lot were autos and they weren't quite broken in yet. I agree that there are some factory freak lt-1s out there and all of them are sticks, lol.

I made 303 rwhp with a hot cam, slp shortys, cai, cat back. Of course mine was an auto though. Made 259 with catback only.

and your 285 I would guess to be 335 hp crank. And then you can go ahead and add about .1 hp for your ram air.
