I thought it was kind of weird that they added a cam and 1.85 rockers. That flies in the face of all the conventional wisdom on this site. They even used beehive springs. I didn't catch any cam or spring specs though.

its a different correction factor. gm is conservative, on the other end of the scale is magazine numbers.

There was no Hot Cam or different rockers in that motor, not sure where that came from. That E-Rod is a bone stock LS3 thats either underrated or the pcm that comes with it has a pretty good tune or both.

did the engine have LT headers or were they using stock manifolds? LS3 vettes and camaros with full exhaust, an intake, and a tune are making ~420 whp. the engine hot rod was dynoing probably had no accessories to drive so less parasitic loss there. a lot of the engine dyno mag tests running cammed 6.0/6.2L engines with stock LS3/L92 heads seem to be getting around 550 hp. another 55-60 hp is reasonable for a cam swap.
