PRC 227 Head / Torquer 3 Camshaft Results
Recently installed a set of 227 heads & Torquer 3 camshaft & thought I'd post the sheet. I dont have a baseline before because the car needed additional work before it could be run.
Car has a Dished 6.0l engine so we decided to put the small chamber 227 heads with the smaller chamber option on it to try to bring the compression up a little bit.
Mods Are:
Used 6.0l Engine
PRC 227 Small Chamber Heads (62cc)
Torquer 3 Camshaft
Fast 90mm Intake
Stock MAF
Stock Pulley
Long tubes & exhaust
Enjoy!!

Big power. I believe it. I've seen similar results with the PRC 227 heads myself.

It's right at 10.8 compression!
The moral of the story is even with the dished piston 6.0L you can make big big power with the right cylinder head!

I'd expect about 15-20rwhp from the 227's over the Stage 2.5 LS6's on average.

I haven't back to back tested those two...I'd expect them to be pretty close, with the 227's about 5hp or so up over the 215's.

Extra valve and runner size are the two main reasons for that. And although we haven't back-to-back tested it, we have done enough dyno testing on both that we are very familiar with how they work and their usual results.

since when does extra valve size and runner size translate to more hp...I bet Tony at afr would have to disagree too with his little 205s...

I currently have an ls1.....ms3cam..pace setter longtubes, fast 92,90mm tb,hooker exhaust, and ported ls6 heads...im looking for some heads that will make great power and that will go great with bottle as well.....
What heads will go better with this set up? the prc 215s
or the 227s...expected gains?
