Default 402 dyno results

I didn't think my results were that bad until I started reading some of the other results similar to my setup. I think I'm way low.

What should this be making and what could be wrong. Car seems to run great and runs 11.13 @123 in 1/4.

Seems low to me. I have seen that combo do 480whp on a stock cube ls1 before. You should be at around 520whp or so. Was it tuned on a mustang dyno? Those read about 8% low. Check everything including the tune, plugs, wires, fuel filter, compression, etc. It sounds like something is wrong.

Fuel filter is new, plugs aand wires are good, compression is fine, the tune I have no idea but it was done by compitant tuner. I do have some cold start idle issues; car surges until it warms up. I guess I should take it to another tuner to get it checked out. I will try and post the dyno sheet later

MAF / SD? Filter? is there a Chriss1313 or a SLP style ram air kit under the filter? KPa / AF on the high RPM's? Weather conditions when dynoed (even though it should be corrected)?

Your cold start issues are a PITA, mine's good after it's warmed and driven a few blocks... it's hard to get the idle/cold start part of the tune worked out, the tuner only has a little bit of time to adjust on the cold block.

Converter looks a little tight for that cam? Does it try to push through the brakes when stopped at idle?

I have a similar combo, (#'s in sig) I have alot smaller cam 232/234, but I have a little better head - first night out ran a 11.19 spinning off the line, you should have a bit more HP/TQ with that cam 500-540'ish numbers, MS3 cams are a tad bit smaller than yours usally hit 500rwhp pretty regularly in 402-408's A4 S60/9".

From what I hear you are losing a good bit thru the Vig converter, not efficient at all.

Just as a comparison ... SDPC 402, 508 rwhp/497 rwt with the stock 10-bolt & 4.10's and much smaller heads. Do you have flow #'s. I have not dyno'd it with the S60, but I suspect it's out of the 500's. Most mods are in my signature ... all the mods are in my album.

My plan was to install the nitrous outlet f body specific nitrous kit and take it to another tuner and see if they can get anymore out of it NA. Then tune it for the nitrous.

It shouldnt matter if it was locked during the dyno.

make sure the yt rockers arent causing valve float. In the past they had issues with valve float

I'd unfuck the NA situation first, before you add nitrous... or do what ever you want.

Take a look at my first post, if you answer the questions I put up, it would help all of us help you. That's a big cam that needs to suck air in, you have the headers to let it out. You maybe able to simply open up the flow comeing into the engine.

I hate to be a big cam basher... but I agree, just didn't want to be the first to say it. Big cam's don't always put out big numbers, now if the OP had Trick Flow 235 heads that would change the situation.

Custom grind is the only way to go really, and they dont ususaly cost anything extra over an off the shelf cam.

I wouldn't think a 240/244 would be too big for a 402 with AFR225's.
