Default EPS 226/AI Heads Dyno

Finally have some new dyno results today. My mods are all listed in my "garage" but basically its an EPS 226/230 and AI Stage 2 Ported heads. Ran with the torque converter unlocked and the heavy 17x11 Zr1s with 335 pilot sport ps2s on them since thats my street setup. I will be on 26x11.5x16 ET streets for the track when I go so that will cut about 36lbs of wheel weight combined.

Hmm I dont know if the A4 or heavy wheels/tires are killing you but theres a guy only a few threads down making more power than you with stock 241s, the same cam, and a FAST setup..

i was running high 11s in the 1/4 with my old H/C Z/28 back in the day.it was a pretty mild combo by today's standards(TR220 cam,3000stall TC).on the dyno getting tuned,i was expecting 400+to the wheels. put down around 360,unlocked.that's when i learned that TCs rob HP.some are more efficient than others, obviously.

the AI stage 1 is ported exhaust runners, stage 2 is ported exhaust and intake runners, and stage 3 is exhaust intake and combustion chambers. i have stage 2 so they touched everything except the combustion chambers. they are the 243 heads. i was hoping for a little more too but then again im not sure how much the unlocked converter is costing me and also the heavy street wheels too so i guess its not too bad....

411rwhp unlocked is pretty stout man, you should be very proud of those numbers with a mild cam and heavy wheels through an unlocked auto.

I've seen a lot of autos make that with the converter locked.

well thanks. that makes me feel a bit better about it. looks like we have the same converter. did you have any issues with the lockup not holding under wot? thats why i ran mine unlocked because anything over 50% tps the lockup doesnt hold and slips. never happened with the stock converter so i was able to dyno before with the converter locked but not anymore.

that's normal on a dyno for a higher stall converter to not lock up.

I didn't even try to lock it.

Dynos are tools and the numbers do not mean much to me aside from gain/loss while tuning. My car has made anywhere from 325 to 350 to 368rwhp on dynos and hasn't been back on since the new cam and 799 heads were installed.

nice numbers and car. I love the *** shot of the car, really makes me want to get 315s again like I had on my old LT1 car.

you say stage 2 heads, no combustion chamber work, are you referring to these?

http://www.advancedinduction.com/LSX...cGMLS2Head.php

or something in between their 218cc offering and their 226cc offering?

Ive got my set of 243s there right now for the 226cc work and am also going to be running the EPS 226/230 113 cam. needless to say I keep seeing dyno threads pop up and I am getting pretty anxious and excited about mine.

you also list mac mids on your garage page, are those the headers you are running with the AI/EPS combo too?

thanks. yea thats the port level im referring to the 226cc but without the combustion chamber work. with my cam and the 112+6 lsa it's heavily advanced causing less valve to piston clearance so i wasnt able to get them milled all that much so i wanted to keep the compression ratio as high as possible and had them leave the chambers alone. saved me $100 too but thats not why i did it.

yep i am using the mac mids. on the mac downpipes i cut off the mac y-merge though and welded in a flowmaster one. much better flow because its dual 2½" to single 3" merge instead of the mac one which is a dual 2½" to a single 2.75" which is designed to go into the stock exhaust.

even more impressive through the mac mids.

did Ai check your cam? my 226/230 is actually a little longer duration, a 227/232. they did the chamber work on mine and were able to get them down to 63cc.
