Default C5 Z06 Street Sweeper Cam - 455RWHP 415RWTQ

Just picked up my car after installing the FTI Street Sweeper cam (236/240 .631/.612 111 lsa) and I was extremely pleased with the results. I am not sure what the record is for a cam only z06, but I have to imagine getting these sort of numbers on stock heads and intake is quite rare.

My mods are as follows: XSPower 1 3/4 LT's to a catted X-Pipe, Borla Stingers, Vararam, Powerduct, Ported TB, Powerbond UD Pulley, 160º T-Stat.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice indeed. Ed Curtis sure knows his stuff when it comes to cams. From the words of FTI/Ed Curtis:

The original StreetSweeper camshaft has proven to be such a powerful camshaft profile, our competitors are running scared and using their biggest donkey-dick camshafts to compete! One shop was so desperate they even copied the "StreetSweeper" name to attempt to steal LSX camshaft sales from us. They might have stolen the name but not the unbelievable performance this profile delivers. Time after time our competition have given it their best to duplicate the original StreetSweeper but in every case the fail. Don't waste the time and money on weaker copy-cats and step up to the real McCoy. Let the fakers run for cover.

There's no comparison, this is a proven camshaft profile. Get one or get out of the way.

Also, there is more left in it just by going with 1 7/8 headers. With those, and a good set of heads, you'll be over 500 rwhp. Not too shabby considering there are "donkey dick" cams out there that don't make near that.

Having had the pleasure to be there first hand, it was awesome to see not only the car owner and myself, but also the shop/tuner/dyno operator very impressed with the numbers. Time for some stickier rubber - it's awesome and terrifying all at the same time getting loose at the top of third now!

That's awesome, but I think that's a very generous dyno as well lol

Although I agree that Dynojet's read high, it doesn't explain the fact that several other c5 z's with similar mods that ran on this same dyno hit only around 430whp and under 400wtq. Somehow I managed to get an extra 25 hp, but i'll take it!!

Yep, this right here. Doesn't matter if a dyno reads high or low if you have other similar cars to compare it too. 25 more hp doesn't lie, no matter how high the dyno reads.

Exactly, even the tuner/shop owner was slightly pissed because he couldn't advertise my car due to the ridiculous numbers. You can hear another employee who was standing behind me when I was taking the video of it on the dyno let out a big "Noooooo" in disbelief as well. In no way should 450+ rwhp be expected with my setup.

agreed
If my car put out numbers like that, before I got my hopes up I would be verifying them on another dynojet. That's just me though. I'm weird like that.

street sweeper is a great cam
I went 127-128s same cam, on that same dyno it put down 415-425 with parts (28" MT and a s60) that would make 20-25 more on street tires and a stock drive train.
must have just missed you stopped up there 5-7ish

Yeah, I am very pleased with it so far. Little bit of surging down low, but I think that is to be expected with the cam. Yeah, I would be thrilled to trap 126+. Yeah, you did just miss me, I left right around 5 i believe. Nice ride by the way!

The car is going to back it up with a 126+mph slip in a few weeks and then all the nay-saying will be put to rest. New Era has a ton of cars going across that dyno all the time, and they all put down about what you'd expect. I can understand why there is doubt as the internet is the breeding ground for all sorts of false claims - but this LS6 really gets it.

Nice numbers. Looks like it was still making good power when the dyno operator let off around 6750rpm. I bet you could shift at 7000rpm for more power under the curve if your valve train is up to it.

Thanks and yes, the tuner did mention that it was still making good power and to go ahead and push it right to 7k for my shifts. The valve train should handle it just fine.

I remember several people saying the Street Sweeper cam is harder to tune than the Hellion, which is quite a bit bigger than the Street Sweeper, so I'm sure it's not anything out of the ordinary. Nothing wrong with a little surging down low anyway.

some cars make more power, this is really good. Put these same parts on 10 cars i would bet there not all going to make this. Also not sure the history on the car, might not know all the mods.
126 would be crazy,I don't think thats gona happen somone just going to the track a few times a year. Some great DA night, and driver mod is huge for the fast times, to average. But the dyno spits out what the car makes.

Yeah, the car was bone stock when i bought it. My best times on street tires before the cam was a 12.1@119. I will definitely be taking it back this for that elusive 11 second slip!

No, since the stock clutch was slipping we didn't get to do it before the cam install.
