Default Home built LS1 Dyno (BTR Cam, 243 Heads)

I took on the task as rebuilding my first bottom end of a motor (here's the thread for backstory and pictures https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...m-rebuild.html). I built the motor to have a nice, fat torque curve while not spending a bunch of money on heads. Turned out quite well in my opinion and put down more power and torque than my last combo with a bigger cam and ported heads. Build as follows:

-Fresh SBE ls1 rebuild
-BTR stage II cam (227/234 .613 .576 113 lsa)
-Stock 243 heads milled .035 (11.3-.4 compression ratio)
-LS7 Lifters
-.080 7.35 Pushrods
-LS2 timing chain
-BTR rocker trunion kit
-Vengence Racing ported Fast 92mm Intake
-Nick williams 90mm Throttle body
-42lb injectors
-TSP 1 7/8 Headers
-Hooker Tru Dual Blackheart Exhaust System
-GM 85mm MAF
-FTP 104mm Lid

Put down 441hp 405tq at the wheels on 16 degrees of timing. Car drives great, Andrew at Complete Street Performance did a great job tuning the car. Spent a ton of time doing drive-ability tuning and it drives much better than my last setup.

Great graph and numbers. Do you mean 26 degrees of timing?

Thanks man! Yeah, I could be wrong about the timing, but I don't really care too much, its running great (I enjoy the mechanical side of the motor more than electrical as you probably assumed lol). 370 build with some boost is definetley going to be my next challenge!

I just finished up my 368 ci Ls2 for my 2002 SS. Just a flat top motor for lots of Nitrous and Dig Racing

SO you do! missed it on my phone app. Its a shame didn't rev it higher. Looks like it was gonna carry pretty well to 6800. Fun street motor for sure!

Thats exactly what my tuner said lol, I didn't want to rev it any higher since its only a stock bottom end and its going to be 99% a street car, I'd rather have longevity than chasing down every last hundredth of ET

Congrats to Austin on his first complete LS1 engine build. What he didn't say is he's only twenty and built this motor when he was only eighteen. I didn't think he could do it, but I guess he proved dad wrong!

Was searching for something and came across this. Excellent power from that combo. I bet it drives super excellent. The added compression really helps.

I just wonder what a set of AI 226 or TEA Stage 1s would do here? Probably push you up over 470 without giving up any torque (and probably adding peak torque).

What I tell people, is most tuners can get power out of a setup, but the good ones are the ones who get good street manners out of it.
