My 2002 Z28 - dyno results
Hey guys,
Wanted to post my results from a dyno day at Tune Time Performance. I am happy with the number for what the car has done. It's a A4 by the way. It going to be a forced induction set up down the road, plan for it.
Mustang Dyno:
303 whp
324 tq
Mods:
SLP full intake
Flowmaster muffler
Tune up (plugs and MSD wires)
Mail order tune by Frost
Would you guys agree with this article on calculating crank HP?

Are you talking about true duals exiting the bumper or the usual setup that is dumped before the axle?
I had true duals on my previous car. The setup was six speed, stock bottom end LS1, TSP Torquer V2 Cam, Livernois Stage II heads, QTP long tubes, no cats, X pipe, and Dynomax bullets dumped before the axle.
It sounded great, everyone loved it. Older guys said that it reminded them of the (insert old muscle car) that they had back in the day. Younger guys asked "what's in that thing?". I got pulled over at an area where the speed limit dropped from 45 to 35 and I missed the sign. Cruise was set at 45. The Officer told me that he heard my car and would have pulled me over anyway. He let me choose between the speeding ticket or improperly modified vehicle ticket which was $50 cheaper. I chose the latter.
True Duals sound awesome. The Officer that ticketed me said my car sounded good and added "You can definitely hear this thing coming". Keep that in mind. Also, interior noise is quite a bit louder so long trips can be tiresome to some people. If I had to do over again I probably would have chosen a catback that I liked or bought a setup that exited under the bumper.

I hope so!!!

I have a basically stock 2000 SS with TSP headers and duals dumped, I can confirm the interior noise is loud but the only thing that bugs me is the droning. For me, it drones at about 1300-1600 rpm, conveniently cruising speed rpm on the highway, and changes in severity depending on load. I have researched a few ways that can quiet down the droning. The most effective method seems to be using a branch resonator, looks simple but would require some welding.

I would also recommend using some sort of sealant on the pipe connections to help with leaks.

Thanks for the advice, the drone is a big issue from what I read. I am also looking at the Hooker BlackHeart series. I'm not a fan of the 2.5" piping but it is a nice solution, I am worried of it not handling 500+ hp. I plan to Procharge the Z down the road, I see guys doing 500+ with 7 to 8 psi. I don't want to restrict the flow. Hooker told me it is good for 450 to 500 hp. I want to double check that.
Thank you! I was happy.

Going that low on a static setup is gutsy lol. I am on BMR lowering springs and I do scrape on occasion but I just wanted to make sure you were aware. It's nothing undrivable but you do have to watch out.

Lol it was fun, got stuck in a lot of places lol. I want to do BMR springs as well.
