SS Hood gains
Just wondering how much the SS style hood would add at the wheels. When I took the car to the dyno shop it was 80 degrees in the shop, but the guy didnt use any fans to get air through the hood scoop. So I was just wondering if anybody had some #'s to share. Thanks

ram air is still argued. it might have done something on the lt1 set up, but very doubtful on the ls1 hood/lid set up. and you won't see any gains on a dyno especially. when you dyno it the hood of the car shouldn't even be down.

No gains on the dyno- couse not enough incoming air to your ram air system-hood. The car stands still.
Highway roll - higher speeds where it supposed to make only a little difference by more effective airflow.
Who ever updated his car to ram air/hood they claim they can feel the difference on higway rolls only. (search button)
(I "dunno" mine was equiped with one from the factory... )

why are the non ss owners hating on the ss hood?? The hood has to give a hp gain common sense tells you that. if you can get a gain out of a lid of course your gonna get a gain out of a ram air hood. Z28 owners!! Plus it looks dope as hell!

No measurable gains from the ram affect unless you are going 150+ MPH or have a tuba bell mounted on hood. Other then that, cowl induction is better. Rule of thumb, approx 1% gain in HP for every 10 deg decrease in intake air temp on street or track.
