Gains with Fidanza aluminum flywheel?

Chocolate and Waveridr are right. Even with stock gears revs accelerate from 5 to 6k nearly instantaneously. It may only dyno 8 hp but that's not close to being the real story. The car flies now

I have a farley stock 98 formula with a spect stage I and spec aluminum flywheel. The revs are really quick compared to the steel. I think it is a good upgrade. Not sure ont he HP gains. Dead stock except the flywheel and clutch I put down 313hp and like 326 trq at the wheels

I have a Fidanza alum flywheel as well and the car revs nicely. From 5-7K it rips. Others may want the steel flywheel... but I'll stick with an aluminum setup for sure.
7100rpm redline combined with 3:90's and 24.5" tall 285/30/18's makes for a car that moves..... fast.

I put a Fidenza alum flywheel with a LS7 clutch & pressure plate on my new SLP 402. I love the way the cars revs out now. I really disliked how long it took to drop the revs when shifting up through the gears with the heavy factory flywheel. Shifts are now great! Jazzing the throttle sounds like a real race car with the instant revving and headers.

Its noisy, and I feel quite a bit different (not as easy) to drive. At least with a decent size cam. A heavy flywheel makes a big difference with ease to drive, and also a rippin 60' time.

A stock fw is about 28#'s; a Fidanza about 13#'s. If you are a drag racer you should keep the stock fw. If you like high, quick revs (like an F1 car or sportbike) you'll love the aluminum Yes, you have to give it more gas to get the car moving. The LS7 clutch will work with the LS2 flywheel. Do a search for more info.

I had a 244/244 114 in my 422 before. I'm going with a bigger cam now, and grew weary of it.
