Combination Motorsports LS2 402 dyno numbers w/ Dart 225's
Well, got the Combination Motorsports LS2 402 dynoed today, it has 375 miles on the motor and here's the numbers, I think it has more in it, but these will do for now Runs were on an outside dyno in AZ with 91 octane (barely )
502.34 RWHP & 460.67 RWTQ - NA
Just for fun, here's a lay over of the old setup and the new 402 setup...
We are only running 21 degrees of timing to keep the detonation away, just imagine what it could do with some 101 and more timing Compression is roughly 11.5:1, not exact because we don't know the cc on the heads
Thanks to Combination Motorsports for building an AMAZING shortblock, thanks to TSP for the Dart 225 heads and to everyone that helped me out with issues and questions, I appreciate it!! The car was dynoed on the 18x9.5 wheels and street tires.

Thanks guys, it really hauls *** over the last motor setup I LOVE IT! I do plan to spray it, I will start with a 200 shot, then see what it does with that and then move up to a 300 at most.
Do you think it will pick up anything with the 85mm maf and smooth bellows? That's all that will be changing next, the stock water pump will stay, no electric pump for me.

I already have the 85mm maf sitting here. I'm a little worried about the speed density setup, it gets real hot here in the summer and my car is pushing the envelope for compression for AZ too, so having the MAF to compensate for the little air changes, etc, would be comforting. Why is it such a power gain to remove the MAF?

If you look down the throat of the maf, you can see the bottleneck that protrudes airflow. If anything the speed density tune will help you dial in your setup exactly. Drivablility will definitely increase and you can make sure it's dialed in exactly at full throttle, something that isn't always exact with a maf.

What should I be concerned with if I do remove the MAF and go SD? The maf is there for a reason am I not correct? I just can't take any chances of the car going lean or anything due to the compression and the heat here in AZ.
I will consult with my tuner and see what he thinks, we have discussed this before, just not sure where he really stands on the issue.

Speed density is nice, but don't expect to pickup 10 hp over your 85mm maf or anything crazy like that. Driveability will be about the same, your cam isn't that big to notice much of a difference if any when the MAF is dialed in properly. If the MAF isn't always exact at WOT you did something wrong. If you want to go speed density, spring for the 1 bar speed density enhancement for HPTuners so you keep the dual spark tables, etc. With your high compression, 120 deg temps, and our good old 91 octane you will want to keep that feature with knock learn. I would recommend just putting in the 85mm maf and retuning for that and not spending the extra money on the HPT 1 bar setup since you will not see much benefit to justify the expense.

Thanks for chiming in Nic!! Nic is my tuner, one of the best! I will go with your suggestion, throw the 85mm maf in and see how it runs, I just want to be on the safest possible tune since I drive the car everyday and can't afford anything to go wrong.
Just for ***** and giggles, how much is the 1 bar setup? And when I do spray, is having the maf better or worse?

1 bar speed density or MAF will both be safe, one will just be more expensive and not worth it IMO for you. Now if you had a 25x/26x sized cam on a 106 lsa than I would say speed density is for you. 1 bar licensing is $50 extra in adddition to what I charge for a speed density tune. For a wet shot it doesn't matter what you run.
