Question Before/ after ls6 heads and ms3 dyno results

I just did a set of Prc ls6 cnc'd heads and the ms3 (237/242 .603/.609) and got it tuned today. Before heads and cam and 9inch i had it dynoed at ttp and put down 335hp 356tq. thats sae corrected. So today with the heads and cam i put donw 417hp 376tq... thats not sae corrected and also threw a 9inch. He showed me the sae corrected and it was 401hp but i forget the tq. Do these numbers seem right? the tourqe seems low to me? only gain 20rwtq? thanks for an insight you can give me

A gain of almost 70rwhp! Thats a very stout gain....The MS3 will not make the peak torque numbers of a smaller cam, but if you look at your dyno graph it will make more torque than a small cam in the upper rpms. If you desire more low end grunt you could change to a smaller cam, but remember there is always somewhat of a trade off. It all depends on your driving habits and setup goals.

401 rwhp SAE seems normal for a big cam and ported LS6 heads? Definitely not.

My buddy with a MS3 made 410 rwhp SAE with LS1 heads.

Ditto, I'd imagine 41x/38x could be seen with a MS3 cam only setup with a stock rear. How much power does the 9in take away? Dyno numbers aren't everthing though- there is a guy on here who has an MS3 with 380hp I think and runs low 11s or high 10s (maybe Matt, not sure of his name??). Either way, those numbers are NOT to be scoffed at! Have fun

from what i have seen, the torque doesn't climb much with the tsp setups. The power is being held back by the 9 inch some. 70 hp is a decent gain with this cam and heads combination, you have to look at where he is coming from

70hp sounds reasonable through 9in man but i'm sure there's more left on the table just post the graph to do some analysis

70HP sounds a bit weak. He didn't add the 9" with the head/cam setup. So that's not lowering the after numbers, because the 9" is eating about the same amount of power with or without the new topend.

I'd expect 60-65rwhp out of the MS3 by itself, if the before and after dyno are with the same rearend/tire combo. The LS6 ported heads should be good for another 25-30rwhp. So I would expect to see 85-95rwhp as a gain and 420-430rwhp SAE for this particular setup based on the previous dyno runs.

Oh, I thought I saw a with, but it says and.

Then yeah, the 9" is going to rob you of quite a bit of power.

I would say more along the lines of 50-60rwhp for the MS3, thats what Trevor and Jason usually guestimate at, and 25-30rwhp for the heads sounds close, so you could be looking at a range of 75-90rwhp but through the stock 7.5" rear.

As I said before your numbers are right in line....That 9 inch/4.11s could easily rob you of 15-20 rwhp when dyno racing.... But you will LOVE it at the track where it counts. The MS3 is also a very good choice for a track car, you want more torque in the upper rpm range, you should care less about the mid or low end when drag racing. Thats not the cam for me, but I drive my car on the street weekly.

imo, i think it could be leaned out a lil more to a 12.8, i can't really see that well, but it looks to be a 12.5 past 6k
