It'll be a short run, maybe 330 feet, but it's better than nothing. And if there is a huge turnout maybe it'll open the politicans eyes for a Calverton track. See you there. Rob

Tested the timing system yesterday and it worked perfectly after some minor adjustments.
All test and tune participants will be given a reaction time and 60 foot time for each run.
Reminded me of the Westhampton dragstrip that allowed you to hangout around the starting line. Lol
Hope to meet some of you at the fundraiser on the 21st.

Update:
The event went better than expected considering it was put together in 4-5 weeks.
108 race cars, 100 show cars and 700 spectators attended.
Over $10,000 rasied for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation.
The Central Islip FD allowed us to prep the track for some awesome wheels up action that the crowd loved.
167 passes were made during the test and tune with a best 60' time of 1.396.
We are in the planning stages for a 2013 event.
Mike

The next weekend was Hurricane Sandy. If it was not for that weekend the event most likely would have not happened.
The facility testing surface was just shy of 800 feet. We were hopeful early on that we were able to test out to 330 feet. During the testing of the equipment we had to back down to 220 feet.
A special Thank You to Mike F/Colin of S&K Speed for their attendance and the gift certificates for the best 60 Foot times and best reaction times.
Hopeful to have the 2013 date soon.
