Not finding any engines in the 757 Area for sale. Searched craigslist as well as the local Trading post. What is the price difference from crate to used?

I used this website to find my LQ9, I contacted the yard and bought a low 100k motor from them, they ended up sending me a 04 from an Escalade motor with less than miles for the same price, they included a 30 day warranty on it. I was satisfied.

I know you're looking for a complete setup, but I have a 6.0 ls2 aluminum block that I had honed 0.005 over as well as the crank reground, and the 243 heads. It would just need some rods and pistons.
I have the stock rods and pistons but the teflon has been chewed through on the sides of the pistons, however, they should be fine for another 100k miles as long as you are not doing a race build. One of the rods needs to be replaced.
My only other concern is if the stock pistons will work with a 5 over hone like I had. I'm not sure if I can just get bigger rings or gap them further.

What are you swapping into? The 8.1 is apart of the BBC family I believe and was continued in the trucks until a few years ago. The displacement looks appealing but the small blocks, lq, lm, ls, etc.. are all still better for power purposes.

I know this is an old thread, but what should one of these engines costs? Engine will be going into a 1990 Caprice Brougham and as it will be mainly used for around town enjoyment & car shows, I will be taking it to the track occasionally to beat up some fords & dodges. My plan is to get a motor, do some mods like, cam, head, intake and carb swap, then eventually add turbo, or supercharger etc...

I live in Norfolk, & i've contacted a couple people from listings with no returned phone calls or emails. I'm just looking for a 6.0 engine no wiring harness, because i'm gonna go carb'd. Not worried about mileage just as long as it runs.

I live in Va Beach, there is a big local Facebook group here called 757lsx, If you're on FB, look them up and ask to join. Lot's of help there, and if anyone knows where to find an engine they'll be on that group.

beach cruiser & weeble1 Yes i'm apart of that group and the only response I get from there is try craigslist or a LS2 that for sale for $2500 plus. I'm generally looking for an LQ4 that has been pulled from a SUV (Denalli, 2500 or Escalade) not worried about mileage just as long as it runs. No wiring harness or computer needed, because i'll be doing a carb set-up
