Default Recording our new album...

So my band, Mad Orchid, and I have finally gotten into the studio to start recording our new album. We started with a nice short 15 hour day Sunday; met up at 6:30am and left the studio at 9:30pm, stopping only for a quick lunch. We are starting off with three songs and then moving on to the rest of the new material to make sure we like how things are going. We've got all the drums done for those three songs and start bass and guitar tracks this weekend (hopefully we get to guitars because I'm itchin to start laying down some tracks).

Hopefully within a few weeks we'll have some previews to start posting for anyone who's interested. You can hear some of our current stuff at www.myspace.com/madorchid but I promise you the new stuff is even better, and a bit different (if you're into this style of music, of course).

Just wanted to post up because I'm psyched to finally get back into the studio.

Looking good Joe, keep it up.

You can make it all the way to the top.

Now you gotta get in shape for nation wide tours!!

Thanks, guys.

Hmmm, sounds like a work-related issue with Myspace. It's alternative rock. A melodic, almost "romantic" sound, it's been said. Hopefully you guys get a chance to check it out!

You can also try our EPK to check out the songs if Myspace isn't working for you: www.sonicbids.com/madorchid

Let me know if that works!

Thanks, dude. Everyone has their thing, but it's always good to see people who can appreciate music even if it's not their style.

I'm a little late to this thread but your music sounds pretty good, it's nice to listen to something other than the songs you hear everyday on your local rock station.

Thanks, man. To update (since it's been about two months), all drums and guitars are done and just about all the bass and lead vocals are done. Next up are background vocals and then we begin mixing. I heard a semi-mixed version of one of the songs the other day and, at risk of sounding like a cocky bastard, I must say I was impressed with how they are coming out. We've pretty much stopped booking shows for now except for the two benefits this weekend and one other show at the beginning of next month so we can really focus on finishing up these tracks.
