Default Ram Air baffle

Has anyone taken this out of their hood and had any problems with rain. I've been thinking about doing this but not 100% sure yet. It seems like it shouldn't be a problem until rain learns to defy gravity and go up but I'm still a little on edge. Any input or has anyone had some problems with it?

I have had my baffles removed for a couple of years and no problems driving in heavy rain.

I've only had issues once, during a super downpour. My filter was soaking wet, for the next two days.

That probably came from having to drive behind people kicking up rooster tails right into my hood, however.
