Machine shops in South Florida??
Well as some of you have seen my other thread I am pretty sure my motor is fucked so that leads me to my next question.
My engine is just about ready to come out of the car but I am not going to pull it until Ive got the cash ready to make a move. Right now Iam just trying to get as many estimates as possible and go over my options.
So Here are my options so far.
1. buy a local friends low milage LQ9 motor, toss in a different cam, valvesprings, timing chain, arp rod and head bolts and call it a day. He will give it to me for a good deal and it has the 317s on it too. But it will still leave me with a stock bottom end and Ive got spray on the car
2. Take my block and have it cleaned up with new bearings, keep the stock crank, upgrade to forged rods and pistons. Keep my 224 cam, new timing set, oil pump, and get a set of 5.3 heads or ls6 heads.
My question is who in the S. Florida area can I trust to do my machine work. I am up in Port st Lucie but I dont mind driving a little ways but not down to Miami or Lauderdale really. I am looking for anyone that has had personal experience with machine shops in the area. Thanks.

So I talked to TEC the other day. Really nice guys to deal with. Seemed really knowledgeable people when it cam to the LS series. Just going to have to wait and see what happens next
