F-Body Weatherstripping shops?
Hey guys,
My sister is having a problem with rainwater leaking into her car. It's coming in on the drivers side door, running along the weather seal down the door and then coming in somewhere around the floor. It apparently is coming in under the carpet and pooling up on the floorboard.
Does anybody know of a local shop that is good at diagnosing and resolving this sort of problem? I would imagine it just needs the weatherstripping replaced in that area, but I don't really know as I've never run into a problem like this. Any help would be appreciated.

you are going to need a whole new piece of weatherstripping. I just bought new ones for both sides. After Fay I found that my car leaks pretty damn bad. Cost me close to $300 but it's better than having you car smell like old gym socks and being wet.

My convertible has always had a problem when it's
raining and I'm going over maybe 60MPH, the seal is
just not up to standing off the pressure driven weep.
She might need the window track in the door adjusted,
if there is no evident damage or "set" to the seal. A
bungey new seal might help but be sure it is the
problem. A little more "inward angle" on the glass
might be the real fix. Might need to lubricate the
rubber too, if you do this, since it'll drag more.

Where would one acquire silicone spray? And is there anything special I need to know about applying it?

AutoZone / DiscoAdvance / etc. - usualy in a little
packet by the register. For spark plug boots etc.
Aka distributor grease.
Silicone spray, go to Sports Authority or similar and
tell them you want the spray for under your treadmill
belt. Or online for same application. Spray might be
a tad easier, expect grease to hang on longer.

I thought the dialectric grease was at the counter at Autozone but I wanted to double check. I'll give that a shot. I need all the leak protection I can get down here. Damn you, Florida!
