looking at a setup
First off heres my situation
i wanta add some horsepower to my firehawk. Im wanting 400-600 and keep it as my dd. Anyways, i've looked and found a turbo setup for the hawk that mounts in the rear of the car. Its the first time i've scene a turbo like that. From the reviews i've read it looks like a decent turbo kit. As far as a supercharger, ive only found one and it said modification to the hood would be requird. I have the nice firehawk hood and dont wanta hack it up. So im thinking that the turbo route would better suite me? Any brand recomendations would also greatly help my search. Thanks for the help.

For the hp goals your looking for just build a motor....and maybe add juice. To put a turbo on for that small of a power gain is dumb....Btw..you will need to do mods. and fit a rear turbo too.

huh?
I mean i'd be happier with more hp then that. But from what i've read its only safe to run 5-6psi on a stock engine. And that'd be around 500+ hp?? Anyways idm building up my engine. I just wanta do it all right. And not skimp out on anything.

Thats a pretty wide range 400-600. You can easily get 400-450rwhp with a heads/cam swap. 450-600rwhp wouldn't be a problem with FI (Turbo or Supercharger). However once you get past 550rwhp it is a wise idea to build the bottom end with forged rods/pistons.
If you went with a procharger, no modifications should be needed on the hood. Very reliable and proven HP.
