Came across this thread while searching for 5.3l stuff. Cant wait till mines done. Figured it didnt get much viewing under the video section on here.

I think they blew up their first motor. Most would guess pistons or rods but what took it down was a cam bolt if I remember right? I have a 5.3 347 on order.

nice, on order from where? Mind me askin how much and what kinda parts are in it?

Tim's Automotive, Springfield, MN. They have been building 5.3 block spec motors for circle track guys for several years. They have a basic block package with Mahle forged pistons for $1700. I had a bunch of parts and wanted more features and Tim was nice enough to agree to do it.

We had the same failure on a ls2 at 747whp too lol! damn cam bolts back out and no body but GM touched them it was a stock un-touched long block.

Im pretty sure they have the same motor in there.

Mines going 5.3 now with just a g5x3 114 lsa. Ring or ringland went on me.

I think I confused them with Hellbent's. My memory is about as long as you know what.
