Fastest Rear Mount F-body??
Well we finally took Jared Shepards(Longrange4u) rear mount turbo camaro to the track for the first time. It took Jared a little time to get used to staging an auto turbo car but after just a few attempts he got it down perfect. The car was on 275 drag radials so it took a few passes to get the boost controller and two step set just right to get the car to leave. First clean pass down track went 6.5 in the 1/8. After making a few 6.5 passes to get Jared used to the car Josh decided to turn it up a notch and the car busted off a 6.33 @113mph.
This car is at full weight with A/C, power steering, full leather and radio. Did not cross the scales but im guessing over 3700lbs. Not too bad for its first outing. Next time we will be on slicks and add a little bit more boost. Jared was hoping to get a 9 sec timeslip but Baytown was closed this weekend due to NHRA nationals test session. The 6.33 1/8 time would have given us the 9.6-9.7 time slip he was hoping for.

Great job guys,
I just clicked off a 9.50 at 150 pass and the 1/8th was a 6.25 at 119.3, so your calculations look to be on target. What was the 60 ft.s? How much boost were you leaving with?

It only went 1.5's to the 60'. The little radials wouldnt hold much more. It left on 8 pounds at around 3600 rpm. When we put the slicks on I would expect some 1.3ish sixty foots leaving at around 12 psi

Right where I was at. I just ordered shocks to help that too.
It is amazing how 2 fairly different turbo setups, are fairly close on the track at this point. Good stuff.

Guys... I have to say first THANKS to LMR and team! They came out and spent the whole weekend with me tuning and teaching me to drive the car right... you cant ask for any better support then what they have given me!
Driving the car was a lonnnnng time coming. I was thinking back after last night about how 3 years ago, Jeremy (Zombie) and I would be fighting off all the rear-mount haters that would tell us how shitty a rear-mount setup is, how it will never work, how my turbo is way too big... etc. etc. I actully brought up one of those old threads... and noticed that most of those guys (90%) are 11 and 10 sec guys.
Now that my SS is in the 9's with a rear-mount... Zombie's setup is fully capable of running 9's (just needs to... or bring it to a lower elevation! ) there is a street vette running 8.6's with a rear-mount... and everyone knows about Major's vette (Race car) that ran a 101 into the 7's now is running twins in the ***... I dont hear the haters anymore! Hahah
The car was a blast to drive and I think with some more tweaking from the LMR team it has allot more left in her. They started a new class down here called "Strictly Street" and I hope it continues to catch on... requires Power Steering, AC and tags to run in it.
If we tweak the car some more and put some stickys on it... not to mention turn up the boost! Who knows... could a #3700+ rear-mount street car see the 8's??
Here are a few pics... sorry about the blurr, my cam sucks.

can you take a side shot showing ground clearance of the pipes and how far down they hang?
IE take the shot with the camera about a foot off the ground directly at the side of the car.
I like how you guys kept the pipes away from the control arm but really wonder how low it's hanging and if you see a pipe running the length of the car.
