Warning for those running 16" pusher fans
Had an issue last year with something pressing my pusher fan into the rad
Bought a new rad and redid it making sure nothing was touching the fan housing or motor body... Even with nothing touching and 1/4" clearance between the fan and the rad, the f'in thing did it again...
whats wierd is that there was contact after 1/8 mile passes 3 weeks ago (I had the fan off for some maintanence)...but after my last 1/4 mile pass this past weekend...oops I did it again
Hypothesizing that its from wind pressure at 160+ mph..but not 100% certain...I think I'm going to add a piece of 1/8" aluminum bar inbetween the fan and the rad to keep it from happening a lucky third time

Once you pass the rated CFM that fan may as well be a piece of cardboard, thats why most stock setups turn off at a certain mph, they are more of a restriction when they are running at high mph. Unless of course you have no natural airflow like a rear mounted trans cooler its best the fan(s) turn off. Kind of a PITA, another switch to remember, so you are probably better off getting it further from the radiator..

We were wondering about this last weekend. The BS3 just commands them on and off at coolant temps. Now I know they are coming out with a software update to use a hysteresis like the stock setup to turn them on and off. Not sure if it is out, and how it works.

knocked 6 holes in the tubes
found this stuff called superalloy1 which is a 350* solder for aluminum...seems to have worked well...holds 16 psi of water pressure back w/o any leaks
